Tammy Walters, SELTexas Executive Director

Tammy Walters specializes in marketing, sales and new business-development.  Prior to joining SELTexas, one of her roles was the national sales manager for Dell’s direct retail division.  Walters most recently held the position of alliance strategy and partnership marketing manager.  Her team was responsible for clients such as Microsoft, Intel, McAfee and AOL.  While in this position she developed new business and grew revenue margins for sustained, long-term campaigns totally more than $90 million.  In addition to Tammy’s professional experience she has been an avid amateur athlete since the early 90′s.  Since leaving Dell she discovered her passion for triathlons and overall endurance training. She completed her 1st full Ironman in Arizona in 2010 and is on track to complete her 2nd Ironman in Florida 2012.  Walters also currently volunteers for Meals on Wheels, CASA, and is on the committee that organizes the Spokes N’ Spurs bike ride benefiting Spirit Reins.

Meredith Powell, Art Alliance Austin

Meredith Powell has served as the executive director of Art Alliance Austin since 2005.  Under her leadership, the Alliance has launched several programs and initiatives that have evolved the 55-year-old non-profit from its roots as the Women’s Art Guild into the forward-thinking, dynamic arts organization it is today. Under Powell’s direction, Art Alliance Austin and its programs have made a $6 million economic impact on the City of Austin.  More than $350,000 has been invested directly into the creative community through artist fees, awards and institutional support.  Prior to joining the Alliance, Powell worked with the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she learned first-hand the economic impact of cultural tourism and the direct relationship between a vibrant creative community and quality of life.

John Conley, Conley Sports

John has been involved in the running industry since 1979 and has served in a variety of roles including race director, running event consultant, elite athlete coordinator, sports journalist, professional athlete manager, coach, corporate wellness consultant and athlete.  He was named the 2006 Running Times and Road Race Management “Race Director of the Year”. John is the CEO of Conley Sports, Inc. (www.conleysports.com) which owns the Austin Marathon & Half Marathon®, and has been the race director of the LIVESTRONG Austin Marathon & Half Marathon since 1998 (www.youraustinmarathon.com).  The Austin Marathon is the 23rd largest marathon footrace in the United States (MarathonGuide.com, 2010) and a member of Running USA. He also previously served as the race director for the Nike Human Race-Austin in 2008 with 14,800 runners, the Texas Round-Up 5K & 10K with over 6,000 runners and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Houston, the largest running event in Texas with over 31,000 participants in 2009.

Jerry Bragg, Republic Of Texas Rally

Jerry has been involved with the ROT Rally (Republic of Texas Biker Rally) since inception and since 1995 it has been held each summer at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin Texas and brings over 50,000 motorcyclist to central Texas. He and his wife Colleen currently produce and manage all aspects of the event.  The Republic of Texas Biker Rally has become the largest “turnstyle” rally in the US and the 4th largest of any kind in USA.

French Smith, Roadway Events

French Smith, IV is the President and Show Director of Roadway Events. For more than 30 years, Roadway has been producing and managing various events in Austin, Texas, including street festivals, political rallies and outdoor concerts such as Batfest, the Austin Ice Cream Festival and many more.

Garry Silagi

Gary Silagi has worked in the transportation industry for over 25 years, four of which he served at the Texas Department of Transportation, and 19 with the City of Austin. A co-founder of SELTexas, he is currently the owner of SD&D, LLC, a business consulting service that specializes in temporary traffic control plans for events, festivals, utility work and building construction.
